A.060 House 93°44', a detached house, Warsaw
On a small plot, at the junction of two small housing estates in Warsaw, local plan’s provisions imposed mandatory building alignments that converged at an angle of 93°44'. This was the origin of the idea for the entire design. To make the best use of the plot and its location in terms of neighbours and the directions of the world, almost completely enclosed ground floor walls faced exactly the alignment lines designated by the local plan. We designed the same walls on the first floor, but at a right angle, which gave the body of the building of a characteristic form. The closed nature of body of the building on the street side, which provides privacy to occupants, changes completely on the garden side. There are numerous openings providing illumination inside the house and on a view of own plot.
